OTHER INFORMATION
Freedom Of Information – Publication Scheme
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 obliges the practice to produce a Publication Scheme. A Publication Scheme is a guide to the ‘classes’ of information the practice intends to routinely make available.
This scheme is available from reception.
Zero Tolerance
We strongly support the NHS policy on zero tolerance. Anyone attending the surgery who abuses the GPs, staff or other patients be it verbally, physically or in any threatening manner whatsoever, will risk removal from the practice list. In extreme cases we may summon the police to remove offenders from the practice premises.
A Preference of Practitioner
Patients may express a preference, verbally or in writing, to receive services from a particular professional or type of professional. This preference will be recorded in your records and we will endeavour to comply with it whenever possible. Please note that we cannot guarantee a specific practitioner for an urgent appointment.
Rights And Responsibilities Of Patients
You can help us to help you by:
- Doing everything you can to keep appointments and letting us know as soon as possible if you need to change or cancel an appointment.
- Remembering an appointment is for one person only. If you need an appointment for another member of your family, please inform the receptionists.
- Asking for night visits only when you feel it is truly necessary.
- Requesting home visits only when the patient is too ill to attend surgery.
- Letting us know if you change your name, address or telephone number.
- Asking questions if you are unsure about any treatment or advice given to you.
- Respecting other patients - they may not be feeling well.
- Treating our staff with the same courtesy which you would like to receive.
- Treating the waiting area with respect
