Our practice manager, Paula Smith, is responsible for the overall smooth running and back room organisation of the practice. She will be happy to hear your comments, both good and bad.

The people behind the reception desk are usually your first point of contact and will try in every way to help you. The more information you are able to give them, the better they will be able to help you. You may sometimes be kept waiting because they are dealing with several other problems at the same time. Please be patient.

Our receptionists are trained and bound by the same rules of confidentiality as the doctors and nurses.

We have three experienced and qualified practice nurses:-

Annabelle Buky RGN Lead Nurse for COPD/Asthma and Respiratory Care,
Certificate in Cervical Cytology
Janet Davies BSc (Hons) Specialist Practitioner - Practice Nursing,
Supplementary Prescriber, Dip Diabetes, Dip Palliative Care, Dip Nursing

The practice nurses run clinics which monitor the health of people with diabetes, asthma, high blood pressure and heart disease. They are available by appointment during surgery hours and their many tasks include taking blood samples, general health advice, travel advice and immunisation, childhood vaccinations, cervical smears, dressings and suture removal, dietary advice and basic health checks including those for the elderly.

We work closely with all members of our primary health care team particularly our community nurses, health visitors, midwives, physiotherapists and chiropodists who are based at Brynteg and Brymbo clinics.
